LIGHT OF THE STARS TRAVEL TO THE EARTH
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. This means that it can take tens of thousands of years for light from some stars in our galaxy to reach us. For stars that we can see in nearby galaxies it can take millions of years. The farthest objects we can see are quasars. They are so distant that the light we see from them today left billions of years ago.
